Meet our Dining Services Director, Chef Ty Starks!
Chef Ty comes to Ormond Manor from the Winter Park, Florida area. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando in June 2016, Ty gained experience working in a luxury senior living community in Winter Park for several years.
Chef Ty grew up in Chicago, Illinois, watching her mother make amazing meals with very few ingredients, and was Ty's biggest inspiration and supporter. Her mother was in a rehabilitation center/nursing home for two years until she passed away in 2018, and the meals there were less than desirable. Ty started preparing and taking meals to her mother - all of her favorites, to encourage her to keep up her strength. During this time, Ty decided that she wanted to work in a senior community and try to make a difference in seniors' lives by preparing extraordinary cuisine. Ty loves cooking and it shows - she states that this is not a job to her; it is her true PASSION!
